Today I remember a grandma’s tale,
How two cats fighting over a roti failed.
Stupidly they took their fight to a monkey,
and how he ate the entire roti as his fee.
But why should tale of cats inspire the humans?
For they possess the monkey like acumen.
When cleverness exceeded its due,
It led to disputes, arguments anew.
Humans crafted laws, a multitude,
Invoking justice, a fervent attitude.
Successful lawyers in court did strive,
Those who failed, tried the legislator’s hive.
Highly sophisticated is the court’s trail,
Its elaboration of law seems highly detailed.
But do the ordinary citizens find justice,
Head bowed to the system, let’s ponder on this.
Notaries and functionaries within or outside,
At every step expense, showing their legal might.
In this labyrinth, whoever gets tangled,
Waits years for justice tired and wrangled.
Even those with affluence dread to afford,
For the commons it’s daunting unending road.
Yet If as a compulsion, courage they amass,

Legislators and lawyers in chess align,
